Equi-Eaze Plastic Horseshoes Performance Uses:

Peter Allen: Tarzan III Show Jumper

Tarzan III was produced by ourselves to Junior European show jumping level. He was always heavy in his action and rode very much on the forehand also tripping every third stride.

We fitted Equi-Eaze shoes and immediately he moved much better and was lighter in the hand and not tripping any more. Video evidence of before and after was astonishing and he has worn Equi-Eaze shoes ever since.

Tanya Buckingham: Eventer

I have used Equi-Eaze plastic horseshoes on a range of event horses competing from pre-novice up to advanced and 3 star level.

The shoes are durable, long-lasting and help with the concussion and impact of road work. They are easy to use with studs and, because they can be glued on, they actually improved the quality of my Young Rider European horse's feet (he was prone to pulling off conventional metal nailed on shoes). I can highly recommend them for a variety of uses!

Jacqui Brash: Sandfire Prince Endurance

Sandfire Prince is an 18 year old Arab X Welsh Cob. He had his first bout of laminitis in 2008 and then in 2009 and he had to have an operation for a damaged anular ligament. There was no guarantee that he would ever be sound again, so Neil Jackson decided to try his Equi-Eaze plastice horseshoes to give Prince's feet more support.

Twelve weeks after his operation, we did a small pleasure ride at an endurance competition where he was vetted, both before and after. Prince passed sound and has never looked back since.

We have travelled near and far, riding over every terrain possible, with no problems at all and look forward to many more years of happy riding.

Maggie Downie: Chas - Veteran All Rounder

I have had Chas shod with Equi-Eaze plastic shoes for the last three years, (front feet only at the moment, but I want them all round when rear shoes are available). He is elderly (24) and was my daughter's Pony Club All Rounder (Dressage, SJ & XC). He is now in light work; hacking, mainly on roads, and schooling on an all-weather surface.

I really like the plastic shoes as they allow natural movement within the hoof as the horse moves, so reducing stress on his leg joints. I think this is especially important to me as he gets older and more prone to arthritis. I also like the way that they cover the frog, so it can perform its property function of weight-bearing and shock absorption.

I thought they were a bit pricey initially, and was worried about them wearing out fast, but they actually seem to wear better than steel shoes, so I often get an extra 'remove' which saves a bit of money! He has been quite prone to losing shoes over the years, but the plastics seem to stay on better than metal shoes (though summer 2012 mud was rather testing!).

I wouldn't put steel shoes back on my horse, ever, and can't wait for rear shoes to be available.

Caroline Jackson - Squirrel - Dressage

My horse, Squirrel, has been a guinea pig since 2005 when the shoes where first developed and has had a full range of plastic shoes on. He has had the shoes both nailed and glued on.

Since Squirrel, now aged 15, has had these shoes fitted his length of stride has improved and he has a lovely lower leg with no sign of windgalls. He has been sound throughout his dressage career and has now progressed through the levels to Advanced Medium. The plastic shoes have helped him to be lighter through his shoulders and have helped to develop a very good medium trot. I am convinced that without these plastic shoes he would be showing more signs of wear and tear.
